An evening with Beth Ann Fennelly
sponsored by the Friends of the Spring Hill College Library

The Friends of Spring Hill College Library present
poet Beth Ann Fennelly,
Wednesday, April 2nd, 2008 at Stewartfield 7:00 P.M.

Beth Ann Fennelly, whose poetry has been described as awesome and humanely humbling, is one of those rare poets who, because of her passion, compassion, honesty, inventiveness, and intelligence causes the reader to experience the art of poetry in a totally new way.  Forgotten desires, unlived moments, and shared reflections rise up, bringing an ache to the heart and tears of joy or longing to the eyes.

Beth Ann's third collection of poems, Unmentionables, extends and deepens the range of her thinking yet maintains the sensual wordplay and subversive wit for which she's been labeled a "phenomenon" by the Harvard Review.  These poems are not merely to be read by other poets, but by anyone who understands that poetry is one of our best methods of investigating the human soul and the answers to life's biggest questions.  Her reading is unforgettable, as is her beauty, wit and warmth.

Beth Ann's previous collections are Tender hooks and Open House which won the 2001 Kenyon Review Prize, and was BookSense Top Ten Poetry pick.

Coffee and dessert to follow:  suggested donation $3.  Spring Hill College Students and Faculty, as well as, current Friends of the Spring Hill College Library members are FREE.  For more information, call 380-3870.
