| Spring Hill College is pleased to announce a grant from the Teagle Foundation in support of “The Plan to Enhance Academic Quality at Spring Hill College.” The College received approximately $150,000 in August 2001. We will commence immediately to raise an additional $220,000 for the following year and, if successful, the Teagle Foundation has pledged an additional $150,000.
This grant will enable us to increase our support for faculty development significantly. Funding will be provided in three major areas:
1) Professional Development - conference travel (up to $1,000 per faculty member), summer research grants (5 at $2,500 each), and instructional workshops (on and off-campus).
2) Curriculum Development - stipends for faculty teaching freshmen seminar ($1,000), summer curriculum development grants (5 at $2,500 each), interdisciplinary faculty partnerships, and funds to establish an undergraduate research program in the sciences.
3) Revision of the Core Curriculum - workshops and seminars, and curriculum revision grants (5 at $2,500 each).
